DAILY PROPHET NEWS UPDATE HOGWARTS: SAFE HAVEN? OR NEXT TARGET? [/ul] As everyone is aware, something new is happening at hogwarts. Something different. Something no one has seen in years. What might that be? Easy. That would be the new students. Scores of them from two different schools. Yes, you heard right. Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students have been shipped off to a new school; an unfamiliar, different, odd school. And no, there's no Triwizard Tournament. We all learned our lesson with Cedric Diggory, didn't we boys? Still, that doesn't seem to matter. Having everyone pile into one school still seems like a good idea, doesn't it headmaster? Apparently it does. "The students seem to be responding well," says the Headmistress of Hogwarts, Minerva McGonagall. "The other Headmasters and I are very pleased to say this."
Even so, the reason for them being here is not so pleasent. As was reported several months ago, attacks on both Durmstrang and Beauxbatons left students, teachers, parents and headmasters alike out of sorts. "No one was expecting something like this to happen," says Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. "We all thought we were safe again." The Minister does advise against suspicion of a Dark wizard coming to power. "We're prepared for that. Attacks on schools however, are a harder topic." While the Ministries of Britain, Russia and France are all working together to rebuild the schools, the Headmasters say that they are content with the way things are. "Unity is what we need right now, and this is just the chance for it."
Buteven unity can't stop an attack on a school. Just a few weeks ago, there was suspicion of violent attacks on Hogwarts, forcing the students and teachers into a lockdown. For two days, students were kept in the Great Hall to ensure their safety. After a thorough examination of the school by the teachers and Aurors from the Ministry, the students were allowed to go. No word of who was the attacker, or if there was any damage to the school itself. [/blockquote]

THE UPDATE !
[/ul] So, Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students, it's Belle here, with your seasonal update. Fall is officially over, meaning it's time to break out the fur coats, Durmies. Our friends from the north will be more than used to this. Winter is upon us, meaning a few things; no more wearing white, no more short sleeves, mid term exams, and of course, our favorite- Winter Holiday. For our Jewish friends, the Goldstein's, that means eight days of Hannuka. For the rest of us, we have Christmas to celebrate. Am I the only one who's pumped? Of friggen course not. To all our foreign (or not so forgein anymore) friends, have fun going home for the first time since coming to Hogwarts. We wish you the best of luck. This reporter is personally stoked.
Not to sound like a gossiping bitch, but has anyone else noticed people are getting engaged like it's going out of style? Purebloods, mostly. I wish thee all the best on their endeavors, to be honest. In the words of The Princess Bride, "Marriage. Marriage is what brings us here today." Or else... you know, it's supposed to, eh? Word of, uhm, like, three of the nineteen Wulf's being engaged has reached me. Or, well... there's one confirmed. Adolphe, the one who looks like he was left on the Welcome mat of the Wulf mansion, has been confirmed to be engaged to one Zemfira Cvetkov. Is it just me? Or haven't we seen her all over that best friend of hers. You know... the girl? Liz? And don't get me started on her and Mac. There's word of a date between Arietta Urquhart, resident Slytherin Queen Bitch Estella Flint's favorite little minion, and Alistair Wulf, the next oldest or something. Do I smell another engagement? Why, yes. I think I do. All that's left is for the rest of them to find wives or something. Don't ask me. There's too many to keep track of. I hear Estella Flint herself is engaged. No word yet on who. Betcha Albus Potter isn't too happy about that one, eh? And it's only a matter of time before the brunette clone of Estella- we know her as Aralynn Goyle- gets herself engaged, just to match her BIFFLE! Good Merlin, gag me. I apologize to all those out there that had crushes on our resident hott professor, Nathaniel Lestrange, but ladies, he's engaged. To a sixteen year old. Creepy much? The word is, Sasha Van der Meer, slytherin Durmstrang girl, has been betrothed to Professor Lestrange. Guess age difference doesn't matter much in the pureblood world, does it? And to top it all off? Sasha's bff and Nate's little brother are engaged as well. That's right, all. Adrik Lestrange is now engaged to Sienna Dimitrov. And is it just me? or has anyone else seen that baby bump of hers? Maybe it's just me. Watch out Adrik. You're not the only one Sienna's been seeing, right Conner?
Relationships are just going wonky, aren't they? Seems James Potter, our favorite player, has settled down with one Josslynn Finnigan. Good luck keeping a hold on him, babe. There are twins he's got his eye on. And the other eye? Probably on Arietta or something. Can we say... slutterina desperata? Power couple of the year, Carter 'Goldfish' Goldstein and Emeline Bletchley, the most odd idea since Oreo's and peanut butter, are splitsville. Why, then, Eme, are you still wearing his necklace, hmm? Watch out boys. She's on the prowl. Last, but not least on my news radar; sorry girls. Maverick Mclaggan is offically taken... by Evie Greyback. Well, good fricken day. Of all the girls, Maverick. Let's hope you, like Josslynn, can hang on to him, Evie. Best of luck.
Well, so much for not being a "gossip machine", but it's my job to report these things, thanks. In other news. There has been word of a party. Two parties, actually. One for each half of the population. No, we're not going to be like elementary school and split boys and girls up. However, ages will decide if you get into a certain party. Right as term is ending, before we all leave to go on our adventures at home, there's going to be a party. Fourth through Seventh years get to have their own little party. It'll be more of a Christmas party than anything. More details will be sent in an owl. That is... if you're invited. Now, fot the more boring one, for the younger half of out population, there'll be a New Years Party just before term starts. More details to come
That will be all for today's edition of the Hogwarts Update. I'm Belle, and just remember. The truth isn't always pretty.
