She watched the light from the sun slowly setting, and took in the scene beyond the trees. It was a special spot on the grounds she had discovered. She was certain others had found it, but hell, it was her spot now, and would always be now. She could smell the fire burning behind her. She shivered a little in the cool wind. England was always cold, it didn't matter the time of year. She found there was always a bit of a chill in air. Sure, she had lived in Russia most of her life, but she moved to England a few years before starting at Durmstrang. She hadn't gotten used to anything there yet, even though she's lived there for almost ten years now. She heard the male behind her, fussing with something she was certain she told him not to mess with in the first place. He had a Russian accent, but it was masked slightly by the southern accent he acquired while living in the states. Texas was his home now, and it somewhat saddened her. Sure, she practically lived there with him during the summer for the last two years, but still, when she was at her home in a small country-side area near London, she couldn't help but remember that her best friend was a sea away from her. She hugged the small stuffed animal she had, from him coincidentally, as she looked out at the sunset. The small blue hippo was frayed in a few spotts, seeing as he gave it to her as a christmas present when she was eleven. That was an awful long time ago, and It went everywhere with her. As did the small lion her grandmother gave her when she was five. That thing had a spell on it though to look brand new. She was glad her mother's side came from magic because if it didn't, she would have lost that lion long ago in the many crazy adventures that she took it on. She smiled to herself as she felt a breeze blow past her. She was glad they snuck out to do this. She wasn't much for camping in the first place, but with him, what could possibly go wrong. She trusted him, and that was something for her, seeing as she didn't trust anyone really. She had good reason to not place her trust in anyone, but she tried not to think about the people that took that innocent trait from her. She turned around at that moment, slowly, to see his back. She didn't know what he was doing but she walked over to him. She put her hippo down on the ground, sure she would be cleaning it later but it didn't really matter all that much right now. The large white tent she had brought along was enormous. It was meant to fit four people, and so two people would have plenty of space to move around, even with the rest of the stuff she brought. She wrapped her arms around his waist from behind, much like a male would do to his girlfriend. She giggled before slinking her way around so she was infront of him. If anyone saw this, they would be thinking it was a romantic weekend getaway for one of the cutest couples in Hogwarts, but this was just how these two were. She was very much so all over him, and he welcomed it with treating her like his girlfriend and always having an arm around her when they were together. She smiled up the boy that she has know for so long. His face was aged, as was hers she was certain, but it still looked the same. Innocent but the intent on doing something wrong one day. She snuggled her face against his chest for a moment, hugging him tightly like she often did. Her small pink radio played a song she had never really heard before but suddenly felt she loved it. She listened to the calm tune, the deep voice of the man. She looked up at Max for a moment before moving away from him and turning it up a little. She knew no one would hear them out this far into the woods, and had put up a seal just incase she made the music too loud, it wouldn't sound past the seal. She swayed slowly as she walked away from the radio. Schuyler looked back to where she had been standing a few moments ago, listening to the fire crackle just under the noise of the music. She hummed the melody now, getting ahold of it. The words made their way to her ears softly, dancing around her gracfully, allowing her to enjoy them. "I tell my love to wreck it all-Cut out all the ropes and let me fall-My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my-Right in the moment this order's tall-And I told you to be patient-And I told you to be fine-And I told you to be balanced-And I told you to be kind-And in the morning I'll be with you-But it will be a different kind-And I'll be holding all the tickets -And you'll be owning all the fines" She hummed the words, seeing as she wasn't certain of them actually. She looked back toward Max. "So, camping. Good idea?" She asked him, more as a rhetoical question because she already know how she felt, and as much as she loved that boy, she didn't care if he thought it was a bad idea or not, she wanted to go camping, and she was camping. It was as simple as that. He did almost anything for her, and this was one of them. She's had him wrapped around her finger since they day she met him. She doesn't really use that against him, because he's her best friend and she wouldn't ever use him, she just simply knows how to get what she really wanted out of him, like a partner to camp with. She smiled at him, a special smile only for him. He's been getting it since they were eleven and he bailed her out of trouble with a whole story about how she was only out her room that night because she was trying to study more and he was the one who lured her away from that library to investigate something in one of the other corridors. The professor at Durmstrang fell for it, and the sad little pout on her lips until the two students were released with just a slap on the wrist. She remembered him walking her back to her room, where he told her she owed him one, and then the smile spread across her lips as if there were a secret agreement between the two of them. It was the beginning of their "crime-spree", mainly them just causing trouble and bailing the other out of it. She smiled at him, realizing that sometime between swaying to the music and turning to talk to him, she had picked the hippo up again. That was when she realized her silliness. She had danced around with it a little. He had seen her do weirder things, so that didn't matter. She just giggled a little before making her way into the tent and curling up underneath her large gray blanket from victoria secret. It was her favorite thing she had recently bought. She pushed her hand through her hair quickly, watching the flap of the tent move, and then saw him. She grinned at him sweetly. |
