in the wizarding world, everybody is aware that their means of communication are owls. here, send letters that count as in-character posts, as if posting letters back and forth.

the sitewide spring fling concert event. if you've signed up to be a performer, post in the performance thread on the stage. otherwise, go into individual threads for your characters.

home to the slytherin common room and dorms, these corridors are not a place you want to be roaming at night.

everybody knows that the hufflepuff common rooms are located here on this floor, along with the painting of the fruit hung up on the wall, hiding the kitchen and house elves always baring goods.

a commonly used section of Hogwarts, the ground floor holds the great hall, the entrance hall and the staff common room. oh! and who could forget the caretakers office?

the first floor holds the history of magic and muggle studies classroom, as well as the place you hope you won't end up visiting; the hospital wing.

the second floor isn't useful for much. what it is known for is the girls' bathroom, home to "moaning myrtle" who sure won't ever let her name go to rest. she tends to be melodramtic, so the given advice is to avoid the bathroom altogether.

flooring the charms and defense against the dark arts classrooms, they are far from the most interesting thing on this floor. the "forbidden corridor" is located on this floor, and it is advised to stay away. a new item is hidden, as rules have been placed up once again. got in detention lately? if so, you'll be spending a lot of time in the trophy room, which is also located on this floor.

no classrooms were built on the fourth floor, but instead a common room. people from all houses can access it without a password and relax on their free period, or even just before dinner. there was also a new bathroom installed to make up for the one nobdoy uses on the second floor.

known for three different rooms on the floor, the people ranked prefects & head girl and boy would know what's on the other side of them. their own private bathrooms are on this floor, as well as an empty classroom that has had quite a few stray couples wonder in for privacy. was the anicent runes classroom mentioned? most tend to forget that it exists on the floor.

two classrooms situated quite close to each other are found on this floor: the transfiguration and the arithmancy classes. there is also a male bathroom down the hall.

the top floor of all of hogwarts, the seventh floor holds what most students only hear about: the room of requirement. the base of the gryffindor and north tower are also at reach here.

hogwarts has four different towers. first, there is the north tower, home to the divination classroom and the professors office. secondly, there is the ravenclaw tower, home to the ravenclaw's and their common room. third, the gryffindor tower. not far from it is the astronomy class. last, the headmasters tower, which clearly is home to the headmaster and his office.

every year at the welcoming dinner, the headmaster reminds students to steer clear away from the forest. it's not to be entered, hence the name "forbidden forest." creatures beyond your wildest imagination lie beyond these trees, so if i were you i'd steer clear.

known for having the giant squid within it, students don't tend to fear it and go swimming on the rare hot day that rolls around England.

home to half-giant groundskeeper, the house is made of all wood. large bushes, however, have grown all around it and now you can't really tell what it is. behind the house is a pumpkin patch. it is asked by the hogwarts staff that you do not bother Hagrid.

it is asked of the herbology professor that you stay out of the greenhouses unless in class. the greenhouses house very dangerous plants that, if you stay in herbology, you learn about.

the quidditch pitch is where every game of quidditch is played. the stands are seperated into five parts; one for each house and one for the hogwarts staff. each house section is decorated according to house colors.

a large, moving tree located on the grounds of hogwarts, this isn't one you want to sit under to take a nice nap. known to some as an entrance to the shrieking shack, most stay away.

located in the center of the school, the courtyard is a common place for students to do their homework and talk to friends. it's also known to get busy on days there is bad weather.

every trouble maker's dream can be found in zonko's. from nose-biting teacups to dungbombs, to the less obvious pranks, you can find almost anything of the mischievous variety on the shelves of zonko's- but just be careful what you open, who knows what could happen!

run by the lovely madam rosmerta, the three broomsticks is a great place to find yourself a nice mug of butterbeer. of course, they serve other drinks as well, including cherry soda with ice and an umbrella, as well as firewhisky.

the shrieking shack, more than just an abandoned building. though once advertised as 'the most haunted building in britain', the shack was not, in fact, haunted at all. what were once thought of as ghost wails were instead the cries of werewolf remus lupin during his transformations- the building was built when he went to attend hogwarts. there's no known way to break into the building- you can only get in through a secret passage on hogwarts grounds. still, it's a popular tourist attraction.

known for their above par craftsmanship, scrivenshaft's quill shop, located on high street, sells everything to do with writing. quills, ink wells, monogramed papers- even special perfumes for love notes.

madam puddifoot's, where love is always in the air- it seems like the only people ever in the shop are young lovers visiting from hogwarts, and even then, you have to be able to stand all the pink frilly things.

for those who need something to get around in the wizarding world, yet don't own an owl of their own, the owl office is the place to go. more than three hundred different birds are kept there, of varying sizes and breeds.

one of the most popular destinations on hogwarts students weekend visits to hogsmeade, the shop sells rows upon rows of different kinds of wizarding candy, as well as home made fudge and chocolate. and, though not many people know it, there just happens to be a passageway to hogwarts in the basement.

a small station, the hogsmeade platform is where the hogwarts train ends its journey from platform nine-and-three-quarters.

with additional branches of the store in paris and london, gladrags wizardwear in hogsmeade carries a large assortment of colorful and masterfully made tunics, ponchos, socks, suspenders, and just about every other piece of clothing imaginable.

located towards the end of high street, dervish & banges is known for it's exceptional repairs of magical instruments.

the hog's head is the place to go if you're on the shadier side of business- or don't want to dish out the extra cash you'd spend at the three broomsticks, just down the street. you'll be able to tell when you've come to it by it's sign bearing the same 'hog's head', and the illustration of a decapitated boar's head leaking blood on to a white cloth.

the forest surrounding hogsmeade is actually a smaller, less creepy portion of the forbidden forest, although many people don't know that; most of those people have never gone past the fir trees that border the village. the trees certainly become more foreboding the further in you go. the trees aren't the only things you have to worry about in there - let's just say that you should keep away when the full moon rises.

in diagon alley, there are many cafes where you may go to relax. the cafes feature brightly colored umbrellas above the tables.

behind the leaky cauldron is the cauldron shop. they are sure to have the cauldron that you are in need of! there are many sizes and colors for you to choose from.

the headquarters for the newspaper, the daily prophet. any letters to the editor of the daily prophet should be sent to this building.

there should be no need for anyone to be in here. if you are interested in the dark items, you might want to check out this store. it is a pretty shady place though.

at hogwarts you may choose to have an owl. this store is dimly lit for all the owls that take residence here to be later bought by a first year. there is a variety of species of owls here so you'll find the perfect one. if you're nice to your owl you might choose to go to this store to buy them a treat.

any textbook that you need for hogwarts will be found here. you never know who will be here to sign your favorite books. wizards or witches hoping to get a job here should be aware that some books do bite!

this century old bank which is run by goblins. it is where you keep all your valuables safe. wizards and witches may also decide to work here but only the goblins know all the passages and bank secrets.

the perfect location if you are trying to find a potions ingredient. the store is filled with a variety of things to suit your potion making needs.

the store opened by fred and george weasley themselves! the store is now owned by george weasley and sells many gag items for all your pranking needs. from love potions to u-no-poos, whatever you need for your pranks will be found here.

located in south eastern england, london is one of the most largest and famous cities in the world. for muggles, it is the center of british commerce and government, and for witches and wizards it isn't much different.

a small town along the River Otter in Devon, near Exeter. it too is also a muggle village but has historically been a large settlement for wizarding families. with a large hill called Stoatshead Hill, that seems to be littered with a view pieces of trash from the muggle children no doubt.

the capital city of england, london has a population for around fourteen million muggles. little do they know as they go about their daily business in this busy city that there is another world living among them.

located in Surrey, Little Whinging is a small quiet suburb where the houses are large and square. they aren't use to seeing things out of the ordinary like Owl's bringing post on Sunday.

though a muggle village, godric's hollow has a storied wizarding history. for over a thousand years it has been home to notable wizards and witches, and has been most famous as the birthplace of hogwarts founder godric gryffindor. located in the west country of southwestern england, it in the heart of perhaps the most wizarding-friendly region in britain.

found about six miles from its neighbor Great Hangleton this small muggle village is a large part of the Wizarding World History. a place most students would have learned about during their History of Magic class as being the place where Voldemort was reborn.

located in south-central Britain, west of London. Wiltshire is the starting point of West Country. there are nine white chalk horses carved into hillsides of the town.

located in Cornwall, Tinworth is a small and pleasant muggle village. it has been a place where wizarding families have congregated for several years.

for places that aren't listed above so it could be anywhere!

so, it's known that when you create a character, they have a past. in here, you can roleplay out that past.

know that nothing here will change anything in the present, in this board you have the ability to travel as far in time as you want.
