THINGS ARE DIFFERENT NOW
it's been twenty-four years since the battle of hogwarts. twenty-four years since harry potter defeated lord voldemort and won. twenty-four years since everything went back to being peaceful. well, let me tell you something. a lot can happen in twenty-four years. people have settled down, had kids and watched them grow up. most of the people from harry potter's generation have had children of their own, and most are already in hogwarts. life at hogwats has been pretty boring, actually. there have been no attacks on students, no escaped convicts, no deathly tournaments; nothing. life has been simple. life has been enjoyable. everything seemed to be going perfectly. there had been so sign of any rebellion, no thought of a new dark lord.
AND EVERYTHING IS CHANGING AGAIN
the peace was short lived. no one knew it was coming. no one knew what hit them. the students were enjoying their summer holidays, counting down the days they had left until they had to go back. the beauxbatons students were enjoying the lovely french weather and working to tan their fair skin. the durmstrang students were enjoying the warmth while they still could, before going back their heavy fur coats. things seemed to be normal. that was, until both schools were attacked. the beauxbatons castle was completely destroyed. it looked as if there had been a war there. and durmstrang? well... it was reduced to rubble. at least parts of beauxbatons were left. no one knew what had happened. why had it been those two and not hogwarts? and why had they done it in the first place? the biggest question was who. who had done this? no one knew the answer.
THERE'S ONLY ONE THING LEFT TO DO
it was the headmaster of hogwarts who decided what to do. there was going to be an investigation of what had happened, who had done it, and why. it would be a very secret investigation, so they wouldn't alarm the students or the parents. for the time being, students of beauxbatons and durmstrang would come and stay at the hogwarts castle, and would be intermixed with hogwarts students, much like when the triwizard tournament. this time, the stay would be a little longer than that. in an attempt to make life a little more normal, the foreign students would be sorted into houses with the hogwarts students, and would go to classes with their house. it was all they could do for the moment, while everything was being investigated. it was a shot to go back to normalcy.
WILL THIS EVEN WORK?
there are those who doubt this plan. there are those who would only want to see it fail. but there are those who want nothing more than to go home and be in their own school. through all the doubt and wondering there is hope. always hope. one of the things giving people hope is the rumor of something being hidden on the third floor corridor, much like there had been some thirty years go. it could be the answer to all that had happened, and it could be the key to peace. and yet, even with all this going on, students' lives seem to carry on as normal. love, loss, heartbreak... all the usual things still rule the lives of the students from all schools. the question remains.
