Tony couldn’t say he that his job was horrible. After all, he was the one who stayed working there right? Now of course there were plenty of people who were stuck in miserable work places they hated. In fact, he was pretty sure that the mail boy was going to spaz out any day now. Still, he was not one of those people. If Tony didn’t like a job, no matter how much he was being paid then he would more than likely quit. Seeing as he was still working at the ministry, he obviously didn’t hate his job. Still, to say it was perfect would be a complete lie. It was far from perfect. In fact, the only person he could think of that had the perfect job would be Adriana. The only real thing she had to do was stay fit; everything else was fun and games. Of course if he told her that she may go on a rant about all the things other than staying fit that she had to do; but he wouldn’t believe her. So he job wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst. The one problem was the fact that it didn’t allow for too much freedom. Everything was pretty strait forward, though his co-workers were fairly friendly so that made up for it. Especially considering he knew some very strict people in the ministry who, thankfully weren’t on his floor. Still, it was fair to say that his day generally needed some excitement or fun while he was working. After work was never a problem; Tony had plenty of people that he could find to associate with for a good time. Glancing at the clock though, he realized that time wasn’t coming for a while.
Staring at his papers, he couldn’t let his mind drift just a bit. There was a time when he didn’t have to worry about stress at all. In fact, the only time he did worry was when he was graduating from Hogwarts. Any other time was spent laid back, relaxing, and enjoying his time. The majority of that time was spent with Adriana who was his best friend for merlin knows how long. Well that’s an exaggeration. He knew they were friends for exactly nine years and when September rolled around again, it would be ten. It was odd how despite how far apart they should have been in Hogwarts, they remained best friends. She was placed in the slytherin house, he was in Gryffindor. She was pureblood and practically the queen of them, while he was simply a modest guy who went along casually. The pairing was probably more than surprising to some, but others would know that it came as no surprise. They were both fun in their own ways; though he sometimes thought Adriana just had too much free time on her hands now. As he mentioned, she had a pretty free job whereas he was stuck in an office. He often wondered if she was torturing him purposely when she came to visit or if she was really just bored. Not to say he didn’t like her visits, he loved them but still. There was some part of him that was jealous and wished he could just interrupt her day of work one time. Of course this probably meant walking in while she was wearing some sort of revealing lingerie so maybe it wasn’t the best idea.
‘You have a visitor’ the call came from down the hall. Leaning away from his desk, Tony glanced down to where the doors were to see a brunette haired woman entering through the walkway. It was kind of freaky considering he had just been thinking about her but he just shrugged it off and put on a smile. Though he hated that she had the ability to just come and visit him, Tony couldn’t say that he hated the visits. They gave him something to do when he was bored and allowed him to get away from his desk when he wasn’t supposed to. “Why must you torture me everyday” he called out as she began her path towards his position. He couldn’t help but glance at his co-workers and take in some amusement at their expressions. They obviously didn’t follow muggle fashion to know that Adriana was a model, but she was gorgeous nonetheless. And when he told them that she was just his best friend; their expressions never ceased to get him to laugh.”Why is it that you never seem to work?” he questioned, looking up at her from his chair as she reached his desk. Trying to organize his mess of papers, he wasn’t sure if she wanted to just stay in the office or kidnap him from work.

* - - - - - - - DON'T GET ME STARTED ON what it means to be alive when girls was little, some of them would dream about having a dream job like being a model. things were easy for them. all they had to do was dress up in pretty outfits and let people take pictures of them. how hard was that? now that she was older, adriana macdougal knew a lot better. it really wasn't that simple. if your photographer was picky, he could make your day hell. so many things could go wrong with your wardrobe. make-up and hair took at least a couple hours. you weren't really able to eat much if you had a photoshoot. and that wasn't even covering the days of runway shows. those were even worse. she had a feeling that it was easier to be a chicken with its head cut off than a model on a runway show day. but it was the life and career that she had come into, and as much as it did become a pain from day to day, it was still something that she found herself loving to do.
being a model hadn't been her first choice. hell, it wasn't even on her list of careers that she had thought about in the years before graduating. she knew that she had the looks since boys around school had an uncanny ability of following her when she walked through halls and her popularity spoke for itself too, but never enough for an interest in modeling. her love had been astrology, which was odd for any of her friends and especially her family to understand. what was to be expected of her was to be a pureblood wife like all the other girls, produce little pureblood children, and be a basic trophy wife. adriana was not that kind of girl though, and her parents knew they couldn't harness that. like her father, she valued her independence. she didn't need anyone, let alone a guy, to tell her what to do. what she did was her own business. she didn't need to answer to no one. except now, which was her manager, but adriana hardly counted that.
the day that she started getting offers and calls from managers who had happened to see her 'portfolio', adriana thought that someone was pulling a prank on her. modeling wasn't even in her mindset. when she happened to mention it to one of her friends, whom she had been with at a studio with her a month or so before, all the pieces set into place. her friend's boyfriend who ran the studio had taken the prints from their goofy session of taking pictures and put them together in a portfolio, thinking that the world should see the beauty she beheld (his words, not her own). things fell into place after that that adriana came to accept. once the door was open and her manager started booking her for little things and those little things started becoming bigger, life got more and more enjoyable. her dreams of being an astrologist flew out of the window without a care. maybe now, months into her new career and her popularity among the wizarding and muggle world growing daily, she kind of did care. the popularity wasn't something she was used to. being popular and followed around in school was one thing. they were just kids. now she had people who on occasion recognized her when she went out shopping or paparazzi that snapped a few pictures. it was weird. not to mention, being famous in one world was one thing. modeling was a world that combined the two since designers could be wizard or muggle and no one could know the difference. the same went with models. she knew a few witches and a few wizards who liked blending in more with the muggle world since that was where the sole base of modeling was.
sighing as her eyes scanned her freshly manicured hands, adriana looked up as the jet that she was in came to a stop. "finally," she mumbled to herself, irritated slightly by being on such a long flight. being an international model was a killer only because of the international part. normally, she could handle her own by just apparating and saying that she had taken such and such flight, but when her manager insisted on making her take a private jet with other girls to help her make friends, it only added to her irritation. getting along with people less than her wasn't really her thing. being raised as a pureblood did that to a girl and most of these stick figure girls who did drugs or stuck their fingers down their throats to be skinny or well-liked just didn't mess with adriana at all. picking up her bag, she lifted herself from her seat and quickly exited the jet before any of the girls could turn to her to ask if she wanted to go off some place to hang out. that was the last thing that she wanted. after being gone for almost a week in paris, it was nice to be able to get back home. there were people that she needed to see her and her mind had been on one in particular the entire flight home. as soon as she turned a corner and knew she was out of sight, adriana turned in place and apparated to the ministry of magic.
the ministry of magic wasn't really a place where she fit or blended in too well. most of the woman wore outfits like pencil shirts and blazers or even the hideous pantsuits. her white top that was half-corset paired with the skintight black skinny jeans matched with a pair of high-heel bootie pumps clearly contrasted almost every outfit in the lobby. several of the women that she passed gave her looks, most of a disgruntled or annoyed look. this only brought a smirk to her lips as her heels clacked against the granite flooring of the ministry to bring her to the elevator lifts. a few floors down until she came to the floor that she knew she needed to be on, leaving the lift to hear the couple men who had accompanied her immediately start talking. a little laugh escaped her lips. by now she was used to things like that since they had been happening a lot lately. plus, it did help that she was still in dolled up make-up and hair from getting off the runway. it was a week event ending with the runway show, then straight onto the plane. adriana couldn't wait to come back home. paris was nice, but her friends and family were all here and being away for too long got under her skin. "you have a visitor," could be heard as she entered the doorway into the department that she knew to find her best friend in. this only brought a smile to her face knowing that anthony summers was still indeed in the office and at his desk. then there was his goofy little head popping out of nowhere that made her smile even brighter. "well, if i didn't come torture you, what kind of best friend would i be?" she called back out to him across his office without a real care about anyone else in the room for that matter.
arriving at his desk, she quickly sat on the edge of it with her legs crossed. her eyes scanned his desk full of paperwork that tony had began shuffling around before looking back at him. it had only been a week, but it still felt like longer. "never work?! i was just gone for a week! i see how much you miss me. perhaps now i won't kidnap you from work to take you out for drinks." a little coy smile was on her lips, the both of them knowing she would anyway. it was too long, plus she felt like she needed a drink. "besides, it's been a while since we've gone out for drinks. it'll be nice to steal you away from the ball and chain while she thinks i'm still not in town." there was a slight roll of her eyes and monotone of irritation in her voice. if there was one thing that she didn't like more than the fake bitches she dealt with in her job, it was the girl adriana formerly called her other best friend who was dating tony and had gone completely off the deep end about their friendship. tony was just her best friend. of course he was smashed and they hung out and talked all the time and he sometimes would stay late at her place, but that didn't mean anything. she just liked doing everything with him because she was the only one she was comfortable enough around. was that such a crime? it didn't mean she was in love with him.. did it?
