* - - - - - - - THIS IS OUR DECISIONto live fast and die young moaning myrtle's bathroom was an extremely foul place. it was a rather unkempt bathroom in relation to the others throughout the castle, but the caretaker kept it clean anyway. one sink was broken, but there were plenty of others. and all of the stalls worked fine, which was all she needed. the only nuisance was the ghost of the girl who haunted the place, but thankfully she hadn't seen her or heard her crying upon entering the place. granted she hadn't been paying really any attention to whether she heard pathetic crying or not, but she also assumed myrtle was gone since she wasn't being bothered. the only crying that could be heard was an occasional sob from her own lips.
evalee nott had everything that she really wanted at the tip of her fingers. she was in love with one of her best friends, fixing to be married soon after graduating next year. he loved her right back and they were perfect for each other. her other best friend was always there for her like the big brother she never had despite the fact that he graduated in a few months. and then there was molly, her only female best friend. after meeting her, she knew there was something about the girl. eva wasn't even that hurt when she found out molly was a weasley because she knew deep down she really wasn't. her mentality was higher than that, demanded the respect of a burns, like what she passed herself off. molly was the only girl eva had ever let get close to her and never regretted a minute of that. so why was it that evalee was sitting on the floor of the bathroom with a couple tears rolling down her cheek?
being sick was disgusting. among the things she really hated, being physically sick was high on the list. just the thought of her body being a breeding ground for a virus to ruin her mood and body sent chills through her. it was enough of a disgusting thought to make her sick again. this was now the third day and counting that she had found herself in a bathroom with her raven-haired head in the porcelain bowl emptying the content of what she had previous eaten that day. as she sat there in disbelief that this was still going on, eva let out another sob. whatever this was was making her miserable. scor saw it repeatedly and told her to go to the hospital wing, but she refused. it would pass and things she hated worse than being sick was the hospital or the hospital wing. so she had done her best to keep to herself the past few days.
yesterday had entirely been spent in her room after she quickly departed the great hall during breakfast to toss back the breakfast she has just eaten. that was the only time that day she had gotten sick, so eva assumed whatever she had had passed out of her system. this morning, her breakfast (though a smaller portion than she normally ate) had kept itself where it belonged. so she went off with molly towards their classes. they weren't in the same classes, but they could still walk together and plot eva's ascension into the royalty title molly would be handing over to her once she graduated. by the time they had reached the second floor, her stomach was doing flips and she was feeling dizzy. it had been a miracle that she had run off and made it to the bathroom quickly enough before a few pieces of toast and orange juice reappeared in the toilet. she hadn't even told molly where she was off too, just apologized fast before dashing off for the nearest bathroom. this virus was getting ridiculous and dampening every part of her social life lately. she hadn't even seen scorpius in almost days since this morning at breakfast hardly counted. it had been even longer for nate. if it ruined her plans to go with molly soon to see adriana, their mutual slytherin alumni, eva would rip heads off of first years. her thoughts were then silenced by a massive spell of dry heaves as there was nothing left in her stomach to come back up. the pain made another sob escape from her mouth before her head looked up hearing someone else enter the bathroom. great. not only did she feel like complete crap but now someone was going to come either bother her or throw it in her face. today was getting worse and it wasn't even ten in the morning yet. THE THINGS YOU CHOOSE TO BE with all eyes on me• • • • • • • • • well, this was definitely one way to start a morning. just when molly weasley thought things were all but normal and the morning was going all right… and then, she found herself in the middle of moaning myrtle’s bathroom. the place was absolutely disgusting, and she now knew why, even as a curious ickle firstie, she never bothered to go wandering in there. she didn’t know if it was the fact that no one used it that made it disgusting or the fact that there were still shards of porcelain on the floor from the smashed sink that led to the chamber of secrets. but whatever it was, she just didn’t like it. it was… ugh. if it hadn’t been for the way that they were going, she didn’t think evalee would ever want to go in either. but when you were a second from literally spilling your guts on the floor, she guessed it sufficed. still. she had no desire to ever go back in there once the both of them left. this was not how she wanted to be spending her morning either. she would so much rather be in class, or skipping class to go gallivanting after her favorite ravenclaw, even if there wouldn’t be much gallivanting involved, if she told the truth. but alas, she was a good friend, and there she was, holding back the dark hair of her best friend. when she woke up this morning to lazily tap her wand to her head and curl her hair, she imagined a lazy day filled with taking pointless notes, daydreaming about said favorite ravenclaw, and eventually throwing classes to the wind, claiming sickness and spending the rest of the day with her hands tangled in a mess of dark hair, or staring into a pair of bright blue eyes she knew all too well. not even the deplorable effie flint could make her morning sour. she joined her best friend- evalee nott, of course- at the entrance to the slytherin common room where they made their way to the great hall for breakfast. it seemed that eva was sick, or so she thought when she watched her best friend bolt out of the great hall the previous morning. she offered, later in the day, to get the house elves to make her some soup, but that was shot down. her stomach could barely hold in breakfast, much less soup. so saltine crackers and a get well note was all she could send. but this morning, she looked right as rain, and didn’t show any sign of being sick, other than a slight pale color in her cheeks. molly passed it off as her just being tired, or the lack of food in her system. so down to breakfast they went, where molly, as usual, ate her fill of bacon and toast. counting carbs was something her mother did. it didn’t matter to molly. she did too much running for the fat to stick to her. not to mention all the time she was spending with a certain ravenclaw. that had to account for something, didn’t it? well, she was sweating enough. evalee seemed fine while they talked and ate, all the while shooting glares down at euphemia and draping herself all over lucian. he was a good enough cover for her secret relationship, and they were only friends. it wasn’t like nate didn’t do his fair bit of flirting with arynn anyway. that didn’t bug either of them. they were just friends. it was all in good fun. the morning went on as usual.
that was until molly started walking her best friend to her first class. she wanted to make sure she would be alright, after spending the last twenty four hours in bed. the shallow part of her mind was repeating that she only walked eva to class because it was on the way to hers, and she was sure to pass nate along the way. but she knew better. molly cared for the younger girl, even if she pretended otherwise to the outside world and to herself. it was a good thing anyway. if molly hadn’t followed her best friend to class, this could’ve been worse. absently, molly thought a few things over. what if eva was pregnant? hell… what if molly was pregnant? it was as good of a possibility as any. if eva was pregnant, there was as good of a chance of molly having the same issue. she and nate got carried away more than once and threw caution to the wind most of the time. with him… it was hard not to. he got to her in a way no one else had ever been able to. there was something about him that set him apart from all of the others. he was different, and she was different when she was around him. there was something that kept her mind always on him, and it made her smile just thinking about it, even if the situation she was in the middle of was nothing to smile about. he was evalee’s best friend too, so she would never have to worry about her maid of honor objecting. and adriana would be more than happy, so long as she was happy as well. saira would be excited to hear that molly’s bitchiness had been toned down by someone… but she was getting too far ahead of herself. this involved breaking nate’s engagement with that toad of a davies girl, and keeping herself out of an engagement. it was something audrey would force her in to, just to prove that she was as good of a pureblood as anyone else. that would mean that someone would take a weasley into an arranged marriage. she would end up married to someone like… derrick flint’s older brother. of course, she wanted nothing to do with him now. he was a one time thing that she just wanted over. he was, for one, effie’s brother, and for two, involved with the toad girl. therefore, he was bad news, and she wanted nothing to do with him anymore. either that or she would just get engaged to tristan to mollify her mother. that would be easy enough. that would hold things out until she got nate to fall for her. a one sided engagement to him would be awful. she didn’t want to force him into anything… but if she was pregnant- no. no, she didn’t want to think like that. if she got pregnant… nate would probably leave her. he wouldn’t want to have a child with a blood traitor like her… this was all in good fun, wasn’t it?
shaking herself, molly continued rubbing her best friend’s back, keeping the hair out of her face. well, so much for any plans they would have this weekend. they were both supposed to go see adriana, seeing as they hadn’t seen each other in so long, and it would give molly a chance to vent about her nate issues, and finally tell her two best friends about what was happening behind closed doors, so long as nate would allow it. she didn’t want things to end just because of her big mouth. it was a hard secret to keep, especially when they had a mutual best friend. this had better just be a virus- or something that would clear up soon. she wasn’t going to be doing this every day- or so she told herself. truth be told, she would probably end up doing this every morning until it stopped- if it stopped. if eva was pregnant, she would be going to the hospital for the test, holding her best friend’s hand, and then going off to snog nate once it was all over. if it was just the virus she was hoping for, she would continue to send transfiguration homework and saltine crackers to her dorm every night. it was the least she could do, and it seemed the only thing she could really do. merlin, she hoped there was no baby in that tummy of hers. she would have to start the wedding plans right away, and that would take far too much time and planning. she had enough on her plate with classes and nate, especially when she was sneaking out of classes to go see nate. and that would just prohibit eva’s ascent to the throne of slytherin, and molly would be forced to crown arietta. that would be a disaster in itself. she wanted to keep blondes far, far away from the throne of slytherin. honestly. the three most recent queens had all been brunettes, not including molly. it was the wannabe girls that were blonde. the prime example being effie and etta. it was amusing to molly. etta thought so high of herself now that she was all ‘secretly’ engaged to andanov when he was so blatantly cheating on her. or at least about to. slytherin queens didn’t let themselves be cheated on. and anyway, the girl was too… ugh. so eva couldn’t be pregnant. she just couldn’t. she shushed her friend gently, telling her it was alright. once the dry heaving seemed to be through, molly sighed. “ev, are you alright? i mean, obviously not. i’m not blind. but what i mean is… this is… just a virus, right? you’re not… i mean to say you haven’t…” she took a deep breath and swallowed hard. “you better not be pregnant, evalee nott, or else i’m ripping that baby out of you right now.” she said, her eyes still closed, pausing for an answer.
