BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK
come on, let your colors burst
things were great. they were amazing. nothing was going wrong. it was strange. for once in her life, things were exciting. events happened in her life. she didn't just float on by. there was a bounce in her step when she walked, a smile on her face when she woke in the morning. friends had entered her life finally and so had love. normally this happened to kids at younger ages, but not for her. to go from a wallflower to basically a social butterfly was a vast adjustment, but josslynn finnigan handled it well. there were finally people that she could go to, friends that she could talk to. people in the hallways knew who she was and said hi to her because they actually wanted to talk to her, and she could stop and strike up a conversation with them. she could smile and raise her hand to answer a professor's question instead of mumble it to herself. there was someone in her life who could smile at her and give her butterflies; he was someone who kissed her, held her hand, and so many other things. there was someone out there who loved her and who she loved back.
love was a many splendid thing. it was something she had never before experienced, but always found herself reading about or seeing in muggle movies or seeing around in public or in the castle. she dreamed of prince charmings, dashing males always keen to save the damsel in distress. her dreams were filled of boys who brought her out of her shell into a world she always dreamed of being in. the boy of her dreams had finally come around, and he was the boy she least expected. lucian carrow was a seventh year slytherin pureblood. he had the world at his fingertips and could have anything he wanted in the snap of a finger. any girl would have killed just to have him look in their direction. any pureblood girl would give anything to be the girl his father betrothed him to. and it was him, of all boys, that showed up in that library that day and pursued her. it was him, of all boys, who had gone to his lengths to know her before she was ever known as james potter's girlfriend, before she broke the heartbreaker's heart. he knew her when she was a shy wallflower. he was the boy of all boys that she had fallen in love with, but was the one who also loved her back. lucian was her prince charming, her knight in shining armor, her dashing hero. it was with his help that she grew more into her confidence, into the new person she had become.
of all people who seemed to be missing lately, it was the one person who mattered more to her than lucian. he was the only other person who would ever come first to her. being a twin was something that was wondrous. even at a small age, they always had a way of knowing what the other was doing before they ever did it or knowing their train of thought. they could look at each other and silently know. jasper was who she was closest to out of her siblings, even if her siblings only included him and their younger sister. it wasn't that she didn't get along with her little sister, she did. but there would always be a bond between herself and jasper that she would never have with her little sister. that was thing about being twins, even if he was a little older than her. that was something she never minded. it was nice to have an older brother, even if they were the same age. jasper looked out for her and she did the same for him. but now that she had come to think about it, he had been one thing missing from her sea of happiness. being that they were in different house would explain it slightly, but it still saddened her. back before all of this stuff with james and lucian happened, jasper was the one that she had spent her time with the most. people weren't really her strong suit. josslynn used to keep to herself, blend in with the wall. then james happened, popularity happened, and then lucian happened. now, she always had plans and if she didn't, she was with lucian. there was never any sibling time, and as she noticed this, it saddened her.
her eyes swept around the seventh floor corridor for a moment, a tattered looking book held tightly in her grip. a single student walked by her, smiling and saying hello to josslynn. she replied kindly, but the look on her face must have told her that she was on a mission because the girl kept walking instead of stopping to talk to the seventh year. once she was out of site, jossy quickly paced several times back and forth before a tapestry before hearing a door appear behind her. a small smile spread across her lips as she walked over and opened the door to the identical replica of the large drawing room in her parents' home. the weathered wooden table off to the side of the room looked exactly the same and josslynn quickly crossed the room to it. there had been so many times that while her parents were busy and her siblings out and about, she would find herself in here with the same old tattered book. but what it wasn't was a book. charms had never been her strong suit, but her best achieved one was the one she placed on this book. disguised as a very beaten and torn up old book was actually josslynn's entire life. inside was her hidden talent of clothing design. the pages were in fact neat and crisp, either filled with designs she had drawn over the years or waiting to be filled. the only other person who had laid eyes on the book was lucian, who happened to see it the first night she had met him. it hadn't seen his eyes since. no one saw her book, not even her boyfriend. her twin hadn't even seen it, let alone know it existed. her desire and love for fashion design was a secret that she could actually say no one else knew about. it was never something she was confident about. but that was about to change. so much had changed about her already. it was time that something else changed to. her secret was fixing to come out, if jasper would be able to find her here. her message to him hadn't been that detailed, only telling him to come to the room of requirement and find her. but she was sure, he would know his way. he would know that this place would be the place that she had come to. or at least she hoped.
