there was something about the summer, that always seemed to cheer Emeline up. even though she was at home, having to deal with her mother on a daily basis. having to listen to how she wasn't a good enough daughter, dealing with her mothers rants on how she'd never find a prestigious man to arrange to marry her because of all the things she apparently wasn't. they were the same speech's she had heard since she was younger, so she had learned to drone her mother out. it was an easy enough task, her mother wasn't exactly the most interesting person. sure she had her looks going for her, after all Emeline had to get them from somewhere, but other then that her mother was absolutely boring. everything from the monotone of her voice to the supposed glare that she gave, it was all boring completely dull even. it had no affect on Emeline anymore. there was a time when she would cower when her mother would start in on her rants, a time when she craved for her mother's approval but that time had long since passed. going to Hogwarts had been the best thing for her in that sense. not only did she get the freedom to become her own person but she didn't have to be around her mother constantly and that alone opened so many doors for Emeline. of course being her own person had its restrictions, she couldn't displease her father but she still slowly molded into her own independent self that she was now. there was no doubt that she was her father's little girl through and through, had been since day one but that was just another reason for her mother not to like her. however this week Emeline was most pleased that her father had practically rescued her in taking her mother away on a vacation. she didn't mind one bit leaving left behind, the peace and quiet was more welcoming then any exotic country with her mother would be. she had free reign to do whatever she pleased and if she really wanted too she could just floo somewhere else, it was the glories of being a witch.
as she woke that morning, the silence of the house enveloping her bringing a soft smile to her lips. she had the grand manor the Bletchley's called home all to herself, to do as she pleased. school had been out for a few weeks now and each day had been as beautiful as the last. she had used her time alone rather wisely thus far. inviting friends over that she couldn't normally have over, had thrown a rather large party with more people then she realized she knew arriving. it had been eventful and pleasant. today however she was going to use for her. whether it be staying inside going through the vast selection of books her father had that she had already read a dozen times. maybe perhaps just wandering around the floors of the place she called home for the past fifteen years. the options were quite endless and she enjoyed that most of all. there was no one there to belittle her or rant at her and it was perhaps the most peaceful time she had ever experienced. pushing the silk sheet that was draped across her body aside she swung her feet over the side of the bed and walked over to the bay window in her room. the sun was shinning high within the sky, a warm breeze brushing in through her open window. it almost felt a waste to spend the day inside. hitching up the strap to her nightgown Emeline crossed her room and entered her ensuite bathroom her mind set on going out on the town for the day. turning on the water to the shower, finding a nice balance between hot and cold. she didn't think it was possible to get anymore relaxed but the moment the stream of water caressed down her skin she was proven wrong. she wasn't sure how much time she had spent in the shower but it had been much longer then she normally did. upon stepping out of the shower, smelling like a valley of lilies, she wrapped a towel around her body and returned to her room. today definitely felt more like a dress or skirt kind of day over her beloved jeans. opening her closest and walking in, picking out what she wanted to wear was perhaps going to be the toughest decision of the day. running her finger over her articles of clothing well trying to mentally piece together what she wanted to wear. finally deciding on a short blue pleated mini skirt with a white tang top that had lace along the top and bottom. grabbing a matching half sweater just in case it grew chilly in town. matching it all with a pair of heels, looking at her reflection in the mirror once she was dressed. smiling at the outcome, it was the perfect summer's day outfit.
with a flick of her wand her hair and make up were done, not wanting to waste anymore time inside. grabbing her purse and tucking her wand away inside Emeline left the Bletchley Estate. it wasn't a far trek to downtown London, but she opted to take the Knight Bus regardless of the jerking motions. exiting the Bus in front of the Leaky Cauldron, even though she didn't desire to shop in the wizarding district of London today. having wanting to go to the Muggle Library to get herself some books to read, the Ravenclaw side of her going mad without having some sort of intellectual things to do. besides having a nice book to read at the side of her pool well she was sun tanning would be nice. walking up the stairs towards the Library Emeline was no stranger to the Muggle Library. she had come down one year to get her own card after her mother refused to let her into her father's study. it was just to piss Emeline off, she knew that she so did something her mother would hate. it had been most amusing to see the look on her mother's face when she came home with all the books she had. the memory still making her laugh to this very day. entering the doors of the Library Emeline paused, closing her eyes as a smile worked its way onto her lips. this was one building she didn't mind being in no matter what the weather was outdoors. it was rather interesting to see the Muggles views on them and to read about these fantasies and fairy-tales they had come up with. wandering up and down the aisles until she had all the books she figured she would need, then continuing on to the check out. conversing with the dear old lady behind the counter as she paid for the rentals, smiling as she exited the building. part of her wanted to return home to dig into one of the books she had just got but another part of her wanted to enjoy the weather a bit longer. spotting a rather quaint cafe across the street Emeline smiled to herself, a nice iced tea would be perfect. looking both ways before she crossed the street, stepping off the road back into the sidewalk her body colliding with that of another. the books she was holding went flying in every which direction and Emeline herself nearly landed on her backside. embarrassment colored her cheeks as she bent and scrambled to retrieve her books. "my deepest apologies. i should have been watching where i was going!" immediately apologizing even though she didn't know whose fault it was. gathering one of her books she looked up to the person she had walked into and caught her breath. well, if she was going to walk into someone it might as well be someone as attractive as the guy in front of her. biting down upon her lower lip, feeling a bit more foolish but a bit thankful at the same time. "allow me to purchase you a drink for my clumsiness?" Emeline asked before searching for another of her books, hoping he wouldn't decline her offer.
