It use to not be like this. The city of Anthem was..well just your average city I guess. It was filled with the typical rich people, buying up all the property to make their businesses, the middle class who lived just under them, working for the rich, and then the poor who slumed the streets in search of spare change. Well that's how it was until they came. The first to be spotted was some boy, who accidentally lit the main street starbucks ablaze. Poor kid. He didn't die, luckily, but several were killed, not to mention the place was burnt to a crips. It was that day that people really got a tasted for the new kind.

The Gifted.

What where they, what were they capable of doing? Well no one was for sure. It took years for someone to come in and start figuring out, but when the A.R.D (Anthem Research Divsion)opened up in town, they took control of the place. It was chaos for a few months. Mr. President at the time decided tha what the A.R.D was doing was the right thing, so he issued the military to start rounding up the gifted folk and flood them into our city. But then one of them rose up, a diplomatic one. He was the one that sat down and made the deal.

The Gifted Were Under His Protection.

Not for long though. The University he opened up in the middle of the city only protected the Gifted as long as they were enrolled, which at most was four years. After that, those who graduated had to fend for themselves. Mr. President bought the idea, and it went into affect Jul 4th, 2012 (Ironic isn't it?) That was the day the Gifted bought their freedom for a few short years. But they didn't excpect what happened next.
